NEW YORK CITY, New York — Bio Ionic has recalled more than 357,000 one-inch-long barrel curling irons in the U.S., and an additional 3,000 in Canada, after reports that the barrel can snap off and pose a burn risk to users.

According to Bio Ionic, the recall affects the LXT-CL-1.0 model with date codes 0722 through 1223. The curling iron has a black handle and barrel, measures about 15.8 inches long, and weighs roughly 15 ounces. Consumers can find the model number on the handle and the date code on the plug prongs.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Bio Ionic has received 258 reports of the barrel detaching, including six minor burn injuries. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the curling iron, unplug it and contact Bio Ionic to register for a free replacem
