Eminent Mizo writer and Padma Shri awardee, RK Lalhluna, passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 87. According to the Young Mizo Association (YMA) Lunglawn Branch, he breathed his last around 9:15 a.m. at his residence in Lunglawn, Aizawl.

Lalhluna was a towering figure in Mizo literature and was honoured with the Padma Shri in 1991 by the Government of India for his exceptional contributions to literature and education. Over his prolific career, he authored more than 40 influential works, spanning essays, novels, critical studies, and historical writings.
