DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) -- A 17-year-old died after being shot Friday night and a 19-year-old is now in custody as the Decatur Police Department continues a homicide investigation.
On Oct. 24 at 10:10 p.m., Decatur Police responded to a report of shots fired with a gunshot victim at a business in the 1100 block of E Wood Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male with at least one apparent gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Patrol officers quickly located the vehicle believed to have been used in this homicide, and a 19-year-old man was detained at the residence where the suspect vehicle was found.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene to process evidence
