Torrey Snow observed that the turnout at the “No Kings” sign waves is not truly representative of the demographics of the nation (“ ‘No Kings’ protests show Black Marylanders have influence ,” Oct. 23). But as an “elderly white progressive” who waves her signs (“Protect Science, Voting, Clean Air, Water, Food” and “Protect Free Speech, Press, the Right to Protest”) every Wednesday from 8-9 a.m. at an intersection in Baltimore County, I observe the many people of color who honk, wave and “thumbs up” to us. I cannot recall one person of color who gave us the middle finger, a thumbs down or even the one time we were mooned.
