Weapons: First Street

Officers stopped a vehicle at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 10 on First Street near Columbia Road for equipment violations, but they soon grew suspicious.

The 20-year-old driver said he only had a temporary permit and identified himself verbally with a Social Security number. The reports note that the driver gave a 10-digit number, instead of the standard nine digits. In addition, the officers noticed signs of suspected drug abuse, which prompted additional investigation.

Officers spotted a loaded Glock handgun under the driver’s seat. The Middleburg Heights man admitted it was his and that he placed it there when stopped by the police, according to a department statement.
