As the BJP-led government in Odisha marks 500 days in office, the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has launched a scathing critique of its performance, alleging that the administration has failed to deliver on key promises and has left the state grappling with stagnation and disillusionment.

In a strongly worded statement, the BJD accused the BJP of “governance paralysis,” pointing to stalled infrastructure projects, bureaucratic inefficiencies, and growing public dissatisfaction, particularly in rural and tribal regions. “The people of Odisha were promised transformation, but what they’ve received is inertia,” a senior BJD spokesperson said.
