Authorities are still investigating why the woman might have been in the path of the train to begin with.

GRANDIN, N.D. (KVRR) – A 71-year-old woman from Grandin has died after being struck by a Canadian National train.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the woman was walking on 3rd St. in Grandin at just after 2 in the afternoon on October 24.

She was then hit by a northbound train and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
