Two years ago, dozens of trees in the Point Place and Shoreland neighborhoods were destroyed after tornados devastated those neighborhoods.
So 14 volunteers fanned out across Point Place and Shoreland on Saturday, planting trees at multiple addresses.
“We really want to come back through and replant some of those trees,” Adam Cassi, executive director of Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful, said in explaining the impetus for his group’s “Tree the Point” initiative.
The initiative has aimed to beautify those neighborhoods by replanting at least 100 trees, Mr. Cassi said.
The final event was Saturday, when more than 25 trees were planted.
