A new study from H&P Law reports that Ohio ranks ninth highest in the country for park abductions.
Though kidnapping or abduction rates in the state have decreased as a whole , researchers say Ohio does still sit within a "high risk" category for abductions at parks and playgrounds.
The amount of kidnapping incidents at Ohio playgrounds also sits approximately 71 percent higher than the national average.
"Between 2019 and 2023, the Buckeye State, with approximately 11.76 million residents, experienced 91 abductions from parks and playgrounds," the study reported.
A spokesperson with H&P Law said children that are left unattended in parks or recreation areas are "particularly vulnerable to abduction."
