YOUNGSTOWN Youngstown State University's Department of Art Day invited high school students from the area to learn more about studying art at the university and potential career opportunities in the arts on Saturday.
The chair of the art department said that they have added professional development and a business minor to their courses, with plans to explore AI in graphic design.
"Think AI is that next step that we've been looking at," said Joy Christiansen Erb, chair and professor at YSU. "So we've been looking at it in the graphic design curriculum as developing a course, and I think our faculty in the studio arts are definitely thinking about it and how it can be used as a tool, but in an ethical, creative way."
