AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents of proper safety measures to prevent car break-ins after multiple reports in the past week.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to reports of several vehicles being entered in the area of the 1600 block of Goshen Road.

Deputies reviewed nearby surveillance footage, which showed multiple suspects attempting to break into vehicles. They then searched the surrounding area and located a gray Hyundai Elantra parked suspiciously nearby, authorities say.

Upon investigation, deputies found three individuals: a male, female and a juvenile inside the vehicle pretending to be asleep. All three were detained and later identified as the same suspects seen in the video footage, officials say.
