KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) -- The University of Tennessee wasted no time to replace head baseball coach Tony Vitello after his departure to the San Francisco Giants.
Just three days after Vitello's announcement, the school announced it's hiring Josh Elander, who has been under Vitello's staff since the beginning of his tenure.
“From the outset of this national search, Josh emerged as the undeniable top choice,” said Tennessee Director of Athletics Danny White. “His relentless commitment has helped transform Tennessee baseball into a powerhouse, and we are proud to have him as our next head coach on Rocky Top.
