Loved ones came out to say goodbye on Saturday to an 11-year-old whose body was found in a container behind an abandoned home in New Britain earlier this month.

A horse drawn carriage could be seen carrying the casket for Jacqueline “Mimi” Torres-Garcia.

The procession started at the Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home in New Britain and went to a church near Stanley Street, the family said.

Torres-Garcia's remains were discovered earlier this month at an abandoned property on Clark Street in New Britain. Police believe she was killed sometime last fall.
