The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair postponed its Saturday festivities after rainy conditions soaked the fairgrounds off Airline Highway.

"After assessing rain-soaked fairgrounds and parking areas, officials with the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair have determined the area is too wet to reopen today," the release read.

The fair's hosts haven't announced if the fair will open Sunday, saying in a release that they plan to reopen as soon as conditions allow and will release a new schedule Sunday.

The 11-day fair opened Thursday and is scheduled to run through Sunday, Nov. 2.
