The South Carolina women’s basketball defeated the Anderson Trojans 112-31 in an exhibition matchup Friday at the Colonial Life Arena behind sophomore Joyce Edwards who scored a game-high 27 points.
Mississippi State transfer Madina Okot posted a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Another high-profile transfer is Ta’Niyah Latson who led the country in scoring a year ago when she was at Florida State. Latson scored in double figures with 14 points,
The Gamecocks outrebounded the Trojans 61-28, including 19 on the offensive end.
South Carolina’s bench outscored Anderson’s entire roster (39-31), with five Gamecocks finishing in double figures. Newcomer Agot Makeer finished with 16, scoring 10 in the final quarter as part of a 16-4 run by the Gamecocks.
