LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A Webb County Sheriff’s Office employee has been arrested after allegedly confessing to sexually abusing a child.

After receiving reports of child abuse allegations, the Sheriff’s Office investigated Jaime Manuel Gomez.

At the time, Gomez was assigned to the Webb County Sheriff’s Office Boxing Gym and was immediately placed on administrative leave. Gomez has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 18 years.

When Sheriff’s Office investigators interviewed him, he allegedly admitted to the crime.

Investigators found that the offenses began at the Boxing Gym, but most happened in other locations in Laredo.
