The operator of the National Lottery has apologised after tonight's draw was halted because of a technical issue.

Tonight's draw was a quadruple rollover, which meant there was a jackpot of £10.5m up for grabs. The draw got underway at 8pm as normal but had to be halted after the six numbers were drawn - but not the bonus ball. The numbers that were drawn before the draw was halted were 40, 28, 4, 59, 9, and 42.

A spokesman for operator Allwyn said: “Due to the bonus ball not dropping during tonight’s Lotto draw, we have paused the draw. It will resume as soon as possible with an alternative draw machine and under the supervision of an independent adjudicator.
