WASHINGTON — Hormel Foods voluntarily recalled more than 4.8 million pounds of foodservice ready-to-eat frozen chicken products Saturday after getting multiple customer reports of finding metal inside the food.
The recall , issued Oct. 25, impacts chicken breast and thigh products sent to HRI Commercial Food Service locations nationwide from Feb. 10 through Sept. 19.
All products will have the establishment number “P-223” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the packaging , according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Products may not be in typical consumer freezers, but may be in those of hotels, restaurants and other businesses. Owners are urged to throw away the products . They are as follows:
