WASHINGTON – Hormel Foods Corporation has recalled approximately 4,874,815 pounds of frozen chicken products due to potential metal contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The affected products, including chicken breast and thigh meats, were distributed to HRI Commercial Food Service locations nationwide from February 10, 2025, through September 19, 2025. The issue was discovered after multiple complaints from customers who found metal pieces in the frozen chicken products.

Hormel Foods identified the source of the metal as the conveyor belt used in production. While no injuries have been reported, FSIS urges businesses such as hotels and restaurants to refrain from serving the product and to dispose of it immediately.
