A recent exploration of an abandoned house in Halton Region led YouTube explorer Dave Conlon to an unexpected discovery that has captured attention. Conlon, known for his urban exploration videos, was tipped off by a friend about the property and decided to investigate during the summer.

Upon arriving, Conlon found the house hidden behind dense trees and overgrown vegetation. "I headed down a really long driveway – you can’t even see the house from the road; it’s completely covered by overgrown trees," he recounted in his video. The front and side doors were wide open, revealing a chaotic interior. "It’s just a mess. You know somebody’s been in there and tossed everything around, looking for things of value," he explained.

The house, built in 1859, showed signs of neglect. As Conlon explored, he stumbled upon various items, including an old car that appeared to have been used as a couch, Halloween masks, broken appliances, and cassette tapes. He noted the resident's taste in music, commenting, "You can tell it was a man that lived there because there’s Playboy posters on the wall."

One of the most intriguing finds was a clipping of a Sunshine Girl photo from November 1993, featuring Colleen Sauve. Conlon expressed fascination with the clipping, stating, "Some guy, 32 years ago, saw this picture in the Toronto Sun, clipped it, and put it on his wall and it’s still sitting there." He humorously pondered whether Sauve ever imagined her photo would end up in a YouTube video.

After posting the video on his channel, Freaktography, on October 19, Conlon was surprised to receive a comment from a follower who recognized Sauve. The follower, @siph2o, informed her about the video, prompting Sauve to watch it. "I thought it was spam," she said, laughing. When she finally viewed the footage, she was astonished. "I was with my husband and I was like, ‘Oh my God, Grant, you gotta check this out. It’s actually me!'"

Sauve shared that the clipping was from her first Sunshine Girl photo, taken shortly after the Toronto Blue Jays' last World Series win. She went on to appear in the publication five more times and became an international fitness model. "Being a Sunshine Girl led me to be an international fitness model with Muscle Mag. It got me used to being in front of the camera," she explained.

Now a 59-year-old grandmother, Sauve reflected on the memories the discovery brought back. "It really brought back a lot of memories for me. It was such a good time in my life – our lives – my husband and I, my kids."

Conlon expressed his surprise at connecting with Sauve. "It’s just so funny that I make that comment, ‘I wonder what she would think of this,’ and ‘what if we can find her,’ and here we are – but it never even crossed my mind to actually do that," he said.

While Conlon's explorations can be considered illegal due to trespassing, he finds value in the connections he makes through his adventures. "I love when this happens – it’s one of the things I love about what I do," he added. As for Sauve, she continues to share her journey on TikTok, where she has over 1,500 videos, while also working as a flight attendant. The unexpected reunion with her past has provided a welcome distraction during a challenging time for her family.
