The Seattle Kraken lost a key player to injured reserve but also had one return to the team ahead of Saturday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers.

The Kraken announced that standout forward Jared McCann was placed on IR with a lower-body injury. They also announced defenseman Brandon Montour returned to the team.

McCann has missed the Kraken’s past three games. Coach Lane Lambert told reporters Saturday the forward was “day-to-day.”

McCann, who joined Seattle during its inaugural season in 2021-22, is the franchise’s all-time leader in points (247) and goals (121). The 29-year-old had a team-high three goals and one assist in five games before the injury. He led the Kraken with 61 points (22 goals, 29 assists) while playing all 82 games
