Basketball coach Sonia Raman makes history as the first Indian-origin head coach in the history of Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
The New York Liberty assistant has reportedly agreed to a multiyear deal to become the new head coach of the Seattle Storm, ESPN reported.
Raman succeeds Noelle Quinn, whose contract did not get renewed after the the Storm lost first round playoffs to Las Vegas Aces.
"I think we're looking for a leader, someone who can manage a group and really establish a new identity," Storm general manager Talisa Rhea told ESPN at the time.
