COLUMBIA, S.C. (WHNT) — Alabama Coach Kalen DeBoer went deep into his bag of tricks to help the Tide survive South Carolina 29-22 Saturday afternoon.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Tide defense forced a fumble, and then DeBoer lined Germie Bernard in the wildcat formation. Bernard faked a pitch to quarterback Ty Simpson and rushed in a 25-yard touchdown to give Alabama the lead.

The touchdown gave the Tide a seven-point lead, and they didn't look back.

Alabama came out flat on offense, but stayed in the game and the offense came to play late.

The Tide advances to 7-1 and will head into the bye week. They'll be back in action on Nov. 8 against LSU.
