IOWA CITY — Iowa football and Minnesota entered the Oct. 25 meeting with identical records overall and in the Big Ten.
Both teams came into the contest 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
But that was not reflected in how the game unfolded.
The Hawkeyes looked worlds better than the Golden Gophers .
Iowa flat-out obliterated Minnesota. With 11:23 remaining in the second quarter, Iowa already led 31-0. The Hawkeyes put those points on the board in a variety of ways, scoring two offensive touchdowns, one field goal, one defensive touchdown and one special teams touchdown. Need a news break? Iowa cruised the rest of the way.
The Hawkeyes did not trail for a single second in a 41-3 win over the Golden Gophers.
