FORD HEIGHTS, Ill. (WGN) — A Cook County Sheriff's deputy is being recognized for his quick actions after saving a choking driver in Ford Heights last month.
Deputy Zachary Finn sprang into action when he noticed a woman who pulled over on the side of the road as she was choking.
He performed the Heimlich maneuver, successfully dislodging the item stuck in her throat. Paramedics arrived soon after, but the woman declined further medical treatment and was able to safely drive away.
Officials commended Finn for his quick thinking and life-saving response.
