CHICAGO (WLS) -- The CTA gave notice Wednesday about this weekend's downtown elevated track disruption, but many say they were caught off guard.
Some people are opting for more expensive options to get in and out of the Loop.

This weekend, some Loop elevated platforms have been eerily empty. The usual rumble of trains are nowhere to be heard after CTA suspended all elevated service this weekend in the Loop.
"I'm lost in my own city, and that's terrible," CTA rider Felix Medrano said.
Medrano was trying to take the Pink Line home to Pilsen.
"For me, it's a bad inconvenience, but I can imagine to the other people, you know, tourists and that, I can imagine what they're going through," Medrano said.
