Dieruff High School’s football team snapped a five-game losing streak by knocking off rival Allen on Saturday afternoon at J. Birney Crum Stadium.

The Huskies triumphed 17-2 against the Canaries, taking a 35-34 advantage in the series between city foes.

Dieruff built a 10-0 lead in the first half with the help of a 7-yard touchdown connection between Bruce Billger and Alphy Deris.

The Huskies (2-8) extended their advantage in the third quarter when Billger hit Eli Dalrymple for a 21-yard score.

Allen, which started the season 3-0, fell to 3-7.
