Severe storms, hail and flash flooding are possible across Brisbane on Sunday.

The Bureau of Meteorology is warning of extreme weather across the south-east from early afternoon.

“They could bring damaging winds, large hailstones … heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding,” senior meteorologist Miriam Bradbury said.

“So our advice to everyone is this is going to be potentially dangerous.

“Keep an eye on the radar if you can. Keep an eye on any warnings we might issue.”

Bradbury said it was hard to forecast total rainfall, with some areas likely to be very high and others as low as five millimetres.
