WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Dozens of people gathered on Saturday morning for an event that’s raising awareness for breast cancer.
2025 is the sixth year in a row that the non-profit organization, Sistahs Can We Talk, has hosted the “Bras and Biscuits” event. It featured a brunch with a panel of speakers while attendees decorate paper bras. The focus was on raising awareness for breast cancer, which the organization says is a leading cause of death among women of color.
“For women of color, it is one of those top five things that are taking us out, so if we can have these conversations and really begin to trickle that down, so then our younger people are having the conversation and knowing what’s going on,” said Dr. Michelle Vann, the organization’s founder.
