Severe storms have battered Brisbane and parts of south-east Queensland on Sunday, with one house that was under renovation partially collapsing in the wild winds.

The unoccupied home on Dudley Street in the inner-southern suburb of Highgate Hill was being renovated to raise its height, but partly slipped off its pilings at the height of the thunderstorms.

Senior meteorologist Miriam Bradbury told this masthead earlier on Sunday that the weather was forecast to be “potentially dangerous” and urged the public to keep an eye out for any warnings.
