SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Taking place Sunday morning from San Diego to Tijuana, the Binational Race takes runners across the International Border into Mexico through the world's busiest border crossing.

Over 4,000 runners are expected to take part in the half marathon race that begins at 6:50 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at Las Americas Outlets in San Ysidro, ending at Playas de Tijuana Lighthouse with a challenging climb that offers panoramic views of San Diego. There is also a 10K option for runners that starts at 7:40 a.m. in Tijuana at COSTCO at Blvd Sanchez Taboada Bridge.

The race website states half marathon runners must complete the first 10 kilometers within two hours during the designated time window that the border will remain open for the race.
