COLCHESTER, Vt. (WVNY/WFFF) -- A University of New Hampshire poll found a majority of Vermonters approve of Governor Phil Scott. The poll asked voters about Phil Scott's work in Montpelier, and some potential candidates that could challenge the governor in 2026.

When asked about general approval, 61% of Vermonters said they approved of Governor Scott. That marks a sharp increase from March of 2025. 47% of voters said they believe the Governor deserves to be reelected.

Both Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark and treasurer Mike Pieciak were named in the poll as potential democratic challengers for the Governorship. 38% of Democrats say they want Clark to run against Governor Scott in 2026.
