Voters head to the polls to decide mayoral races in Dearborn, Dearborn Heights

Voters will head to the polls Nov. 4 to decide some key races in Wayne County, including choosing mayors in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights.

Voters in Dearborn will decide whether to give the incumbent mayor, Abdullah Hammoud, the city's first Arab American and Muslim mayor, a second term or go with a political newcomer, Nagi Almudhegi, a 51-year-old engineer running for office for the first time, as the city shapes its approach to issues such as public safety — particularly reckless driving — flooding, and public health.
