EL RENO, Okla. (KFOR) - The city of El Reno has come together to honor an officer killed in the line of duty.
Sergeant Thomas Duran was hit by a car on Friday, October 17th.
"We took that call knowing it's one of yours, one of your own, and it's difficult," said Chief Ken Brown. "I mean, imagine even a loss or injury to a family member."
Thursday night, family, friends, and law enforcement from across the state lined the hallways of OU Medical for an honor walk, as family recognized Sgt. Duran's wishes to be an organ donor.
"It's admirable beyond words that even in the worst times, Sgt. Duran is still giving back to this community," said Mark Nelson, President of the Fraternal Order of Police.
