( 25News Now ) - After a heartbreaking 40-35 loss to Youngstown State last weekend, #18 Illinois State got back in the win column with a valuable 21-13 road victory over #21 South Dakota to stay in the hunt for the FCS Playoffs.

Tommy Rittenhouse only threw for 141 yards, but he was involved in all three of the Redbirds’ touchdowns (two passing, one rushing). The Redbirds return home next Saturday for another important MVFC matchup against UNI.

Illinois Wesleyan was dominant in all three phases of the game as they rolled to a 49-21 victory over North Park. The Titans will travel to Augustana next Saturday.
