A freeze warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 1:36 a.m. valid from 11 p.m. until Monday 9 a.m. for Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Cayuga, Erie and Genesee counties.
"Sub-freezing temperatures in the upper 20s to near 30 expected, with the exception of areas near the immediate Lake Ontario shoreline," can be expected according to the weather service. "The coldest temperatures are expected further away from the immediate Lake Ontario shoreline."
"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing," explains the weather service.
