The No.1-ranked Michigan State hockey team was looking to complete back-to-back road sweeps after shutting out Northern Michigan in their series opener, and would attempt to do so with freshman goaltender Melvin Strahl making his MSU debut in net.
The Wildcats and Spartans battled to a 2-2 draw through two periods, but a four-goal third period lifted MSU to a 6-2 win on Saturday, Oct. 26. The victory gave the Spartans a five-game win streak heading into an off week.
