Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette isn't in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the World Series against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night.
Bichette played in Game 1 for the first time since he sustained a sprained left knee in a play at the plate against the New York Yankees on Sept. 6. He played second base for the first time in his major league career on Friday and went 1-for-2 with a walk before being pulled for a pinch runner during Toronto's nine-run sixth inning.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Saturday that Bichette feels "better than expected" and will be ready to play off the bench.
"After the layoff, didn't want to kill him," Schneider told reporters.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa is starting at second base and batting eighth on Saturday.
