New Delhi: Samsung has launched a new health feature called the Antioxidant Index on its upcoming Galaxy Watch8, becoming the first wearable brand to include such a tool. The feature is the result of several years of research and aims to measure the level of antioxidants in a person’s body, something that earlier required lab equipment. Until now, most smartwatches could track fitness and activity data like steps, calories, and heart rate, but not diet-related biological health.

To make sure the readings are reliable, Samsung carried out validation trials at the Samsung Medical Centre, involving hundreds of participants.
