OXFORD, Ohio — Dequan Finn threw for a touchdown and ran for another in the fourth quarter and Miami (Ohio) rallied for a 26-17 victory Saturday to take sole possession of first place in the Mid-American Conference.
Trailing 17-9, Finn threw a 3-yard TD pass to Brian Shane early in the final quarter. Six minutes later he completed a 50-yard pass to Kam Perry down to the Western Michigan 18-yard line, setting up his own touchdown run on the next play for the lead.
Adam Trick's strip-sack ended the Broncos' ensuing possession and Dom Dzioban provided a cushion with a 51-yard field goal. Dzioban made all four of his attempts.
Both the RedHawks (5-3, 4-0) and the Broncos (4-4, 3-1) came in on four-game win streaks. Miami has won 11 straight regular-season MAC games.
