Synopsis: On 24 October, DVAC officials in Kanniyakumari caught Police Inspector Anbu Prakash, 58, accepting a Rs 1.15 lakh bribe from history-sheeter Rajan to dismiss a case. A sting operation led by ADSP Miklin Escol confirmed the act with a phenolphthalein test. Prakash was arrested, remanded until 7 September, and hospitalised. Probe continues.
