Pennsylvania: One person was killed and six others were injured in a shooting during a homecoming event at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania on Saturday night, officials said. Police have detained one person in connection with the incident and recovered a firearm from their possession.

According to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, the shooting took place around 9pm near the university football field in Oxford, about 50 miles west of Philadelphia. The gunfire broke out during a yard festival and tailgate gathering attended by students, alumni and visitors. ADVERTISEMENT

Authorities said four of the victims were taken to Christiana Hospital with gunshot wounds. The identity of the deceased has not been released yet.
