A man wrongfully convicted for a 1975 slaying in Roxbury has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the city and three former Boston police detectives.
Lawyers for Milton Jones, 73, of Bridgewater, filed a civil complaint Tuesday in US District Court in Boston against the city and former detectives Peter O’Malley, Lewis McConkey, and John J. Daley, records show.
The three former detectives all died between 2013 and 2021, and they’re named as defendants under a state law that provides a path for seeking compensation from an estate’s insurance policy.
A Boston police spokesperson declined to comment, citing the pending litigation. A spokesperson for the city didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
