A dog is set to be destroyed following a brutal attack outside a Tesco Extra store.

The bull terrier-type dog, called Nala, pounced on 13-year-old West Highland terrier, Buddy, as his horrified owner tried desperatly to save him.

Terry and Maria Hunton had stopped at the Tesco Extra store in Bidston on Wednesday, June 11, as they prepared for a weekend trip to Norwich to celebrate a family birthday.

And while Maria went inside to shop, Terry stayed outside with Buddy.

Nala, who tied to a nearby railing, was released by her owner and immediately launched a violent attack, sinking its jaws into Buddy’s head.
