BJP MLA from Viramgam constituency and former leader of Patidar quota agitation Hardik Patel has lodged a police complaint against unidentified persons for allegedly circulating fake posts on social media with the “ill motive of defaming him and tarnishing his political image”.

Patel lodged the complaint with Viramgam Town Police Station on October 24. After receiving the complaint, police launched an investigation into the issue. Police however, said that no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered based on the complaint so far.

The complaint is related to a social media post of Patel on the recent death of former MLA from Viramgam constituency Vajubhai Dodiya on October 21.

Dodiya was a leading name in the cooperative sector in the Viramgam constituency.
