Giant 50ft Christmas tree goes up in Clifton

A giant 50ft Christmas tree has gone up in Clifton Village . A crane was used to lift the enormous plant into place in The Mall Gardens this morning (October 26), ahead of this year's official Christmas lights switch-on event which takes place on November 12.

The event heralds the start of the festive season , and features carol singing, revellers gathering in Santa hats and of course the all-important official moment the lights on the giant tree are switched on.

Organisers Clifton BID previously wrote to local businesses asking for help with the switch-on, the biggest event of the year in the village.
