Kamareddy: Farmers continue to face severe hardships in paddy procurement across the state this season as well. At the Paddy Procurement Centre (PPC) in Nasrullabad, distressed farmers fell at the feet of police personnel, pleading with them to intervene and direct procurement officials to lift their stocks.
The farmers, frustrated by the delay, threatened to end their lives if the rice mills refused to procure their produce. They staged a protest at the Bommadevrapally crossroads on Saturday, squatting on the road and raising slogans.
