Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs has been placed on injured reserve due to a concussion and will not take the field against the Denver Broncos . This will mark the third straight season he’s missed at least four games. That raises questions about his immediate future with the team and how it will impact the Cowboys.
“A Trevon Diggs release in the offseason saves the Cowboys $54 million in cap space from 2026-2028,” Cowboys writer Clarence Hill Jr. wrote on X. “If he’s not traded, look for him to be a post june 1 cut.”
If he is listed as a post-June 1 release in the offseason, Dallas will save $15.5 million in cap, per Sportrac .
Back in 2023, Diggs signed a five-year extension with the Cowboys worth $97 million, including $33.3 million guaranteed at signing and $42.3 million
