STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — With Halloween soon approaching, hundreds of brave souls made their way to William H. Pouch Scout Camp, which was magically transformed into The Haunt at Camp Slaughter on Saturday.

With more than 50 actors on hand, guests could take a hayride and walk through a haunted house where actors were waiting to scare the living daylights out of anyone who dared cross their path.

For the past six years, six acres at the historic Kreischer Mansion in Charleston were the setting for the haunting experience, until a significant restoration project forced the event to find a new home.

According to promoter Rick Rispoli, The Haunt at Camp Slaughter is utilizing 18 acres of the property at William H. Pouch Scout Camp .
