CHARLES TOWN – A Jefferson County woman has been sentenced to prison after a multi-agency investigation uncovered a forged West Virginia business registration document.
West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner announced Thursday that Dana Marie Phillips was sentenced to two to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to one felony count of forging a public document. Phillips was originally indicted in April on two counts of forgery and one count of uttering a forged public document after attempting to use a fake business registration to open an account at Jefferson Security Bank in Martinsburg.
